The craft village reportage series is part of the Vietnamese government's craft village conservation project

According to the Vietnam Craft Villages Association, the country currently boasts 5,400 craft villages, of which about 2,000 are traditional, embodying long-standing economic, historical, and cultural values. The impact of urbanization, migration, and local socio-economic activities has put many of these villages at risk of decline.

In reality, amidst globalization and international integration, many cultural values of traditional crafts are gradually disappearing. The secrets of the trades are being lost along with the passing of older artisans; there is even a trend of commercializing handicraft products, neglecting the cultural values of traditional crafts, leading to the dilution or complete loss of the craft villages’ brands.

For this reason, the documentary series seeking out traditional craft villages was created to respond to the call from the Vietnam Craft Village Conservation and Development Program for 2021 – 2030 by the Government of Vietnam.

In this series, viewers wil join the production team as they explore Vietnamese traditional craft villages, listening to their efforts to preserve cultural heritages that are at risk of fading away. Through this journey, the series seeks sustainable solutions to conserve and develop these sacred cultural values.

The Vietnamese Traditional Crafts Series is a passion project for the entire team at Én Vàng Agency, as we took charge of the entire production process, from conceptualization and scripting to filming and post-production editing. In addition to on-site filming in traditional craft villages, the Én Vàng production team also incorporated diverse formats such as talk sets with cultural experts and traditional artisans.

To date, the Vietnamese Traditional Crafts Series has received positive feedback from audiences. At Én Vàng Agency, our clients can be assured of detailed consultation and a structured execution of each production process for their business projects."
